Spring Professional Development, March 12th

Administrator Appreciation Day!

Greetings and Happy New Year!

The spring PD for the Mid Missouri School Counseling Association is our ADMINISTRATOR APPRECIATION DAY on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 from 8am-12pm in the Historic Senior Hall of Stephens College at 100 Waugh St, Columbia, MO 65201.
Breakfast will be served at this PD.

We will have two fabulous guest speakers:

Jeffrey R. West, Principal  at California High School will present on how to get parents back on board as proactive (instead of reactive) partners in student education. The focus is to provide strategies that can consistently engage parents to foster a sense of partnership, which is vital to each student's success.

Dr. Sharon Sevier, L.P.C, School Counseling Consultant, will advise us on how to use the principal/counselor relationship to improve the success of your entire school community!

The relationship between administrators and school counselors is the key element to a successful school counseling program.  This relationship provides transparency, education, collaboration, and goal setting that impacts not only the school counseling program but the successful functioning of the entire school community.  This presentation will provide tools and examples collected from winning school counseling programs to help strengthen the services provided to students, and increase the transparency and trust within the administrator/school counselor partnership.
