History
The Mid-Missouri School Counseling Association (MMSCA) is one of the twelve district organizations within the Missouri School Counselor Association (MSCA). MMSCA serves twelve counties in central Missouri: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Howard, Lincoln, Montgomery, Osage, Pike, and Warren.
The purpose of MMSCA is to support the professionals who work with and help children and adolescents everyday to reach their full potential. To that end, MMSCA has been pursuing this mission for 45 years!
The first unofficial meeting of MMSCA was held in the fall of 1963 under the efforts of Diana Townsend. On January 26, 1976 MMSCA became officially affiliated with the state organization, at that time known as the Missouri Guidance Association.
