Micro skills enable a school counselor to build a working alliance with students to engage in discussion that is both helpful and meaningful. In this session, you will review the core micro skills which alone or together can facilitate the counseling process no matter what level you work. Mark your calendar! MMSCA will offer two professional development opportunities this year. You won't want to miss the first on October 4, 2017 at Columbia College from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Dr. Rene' Yoesel, Director of School Counseling for DESE, will be there to discuss current legislation which affects the MO Comprehensive School Counseling Program and DESE program development work being conducted. Rene' will be joined by Stacey Williams, Suicide Prevention Coordinator, and Rikki Barton, Director of the Regional Support Center.
